GEMA is a movement to help Christians read through the whole Bible in 3 years. This daily devotional app in Bahasa Indonesia is created to help GEMA achieve its goal.
GEMA adalah singkatan dari Gerakan Membaca Alkitab, yaitu suatu gerakan untuk menolong jemaat agar bisa membaca seluruh Alkitab dalam setiap jangka waktu tiga tahun. GEMA diterbitkan untuk pertama kali pada tahun 1999 oleh Gereja Kristus Yesus, Jakarta, Indonesia.
Sebagaimana namanya, GEMA menekankan bahwa Alkitab harus dibaca oleh semua orang, khususnya orang Kristen. GEMA hanyalah panduan di dalam membaca Alkitab agar pembaca Alkitab dapat dengan teratur membaca Alkitab dan lebih memahami Alkitab. Alkitab adalah firman Allah yang harus dibaca dan direnungkan agar kita bisa mengenal Allah dan isi hati-Nya serta bisa mengenal Yesus Kristus, Juruselamat dan Tuhan kita, sehingga kita memperoleh hidup yang kekal dan bisa menjalani kehidupan sesuai dengan rencana Allah.
