How To Share Your Java Apps Between Phones

- posted on Tuesday February 13, 2007

In January 2007, Nana Yaw from Ghana posted a comment in the Our Daily Bread downloads page, asking for a way to transfer the mobile java applications from one cell phone to another. This is to make it easy to beam the mobile devotions between cell phones, especially to those without a PC with Internet access or a GPRS subscription. Angela, a new visitor here, rose to the challenge of looking for a way to achieve this and here’s what she found out:

With some fiddling around, I have discovered a way to transfer java applications between handphones. I’m using a Sony Ericsson Z520. Within File Manager, I have an empty folder labelled as “Other”. Instead of uploading the usual way, I do a file “drag and drop” from PC folder to “Other” (using any handphone explorer program). From this, I’m able to transfer the jar file without installing it straightaway. Once it is in “Other”, ODB can be easily transferred to another handphone via bluetooth. I hope this method works for the rest.

If anyone else is also able to get this working on their cell phone, please share the good news with the rest of us. Beam the mobile daily devotions to as many friends as possible to encourage them in their faith.

And one last thing, Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
Valentine's Day Rose
