Mobile Daily Devotional

I’ve received a few emails these past few days asking when the November edition for Our Daily Bread will be out, so here you are. The November 2006 copy of Our Daily Bread for Mobile Phone is now available at the Our Daily Bread download page.

The java application has been enhanced with the ability to send SMS. You can now SMS the poem and quotation at the end of each day’s devotion to your friends. This is a simple and great way for you to “…spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” (Heb 10:24 – NIV).

Go ahead and SMS someone an encouragement today.

I’ve also managed to reduce the size of the JAR file as I had unknowingly included a Thumbs.db (database of thumbnails of images in a Windows folder) file into the JAR file in the past. As usual, I’m only able to test this application on my Motorola PEBL, the Nokia S40 emulator and the Sony Ericsson SDK emulator phones, please report any problem that you encounter using the Contact Form. Any feedback and suggestions on improving the SMS sending steps will be great too.

The first part of the bible verses for the 21st October devotional (Acts 24:10-16 – Paul’s defense before Felix) was messed up. It’s already past 21st October, so this fix will benefit those who are behind their daily devotional reading.

The past releases of the mobile phone application jar file for Prayer, Praise and Promises had missing words in the NKJV bible verses. The missing words were actually additional words required to clarify expressions used in the original Hebrew or Greek language.

Notice the missing words between the two screen captures below.

You can get the updated Prayer, Praise and Promises for 11th to 20th October and 21st to 31st October for your mobile phone from Devotions by Warren Wiersbe.

The problem with missing words in the NKJV bible verses is solved. You can get the updated Our Daily Bread Oct 2006 at Our Daily Bread downloads.
