Last week, I submitted my registration for Google AdSense. After 3 days, the reply came saying that my application has been approved. The email said that delivering Google ads to my web site is a simple 3 step process.

1. Activate my AdSense account.
2. Paste AdSense ads code into my web pages.
3. See the results

So, over the weekend, my Textpattern pages and forms were cleaned up in preparation for AdSense. I generated the AdSense code for my Textpattern templates using the “AdSense for Content” wizard. So far, so good. Getting the AdSense on the web page was indeed very easy. Next, to view how the ads look in my site.

Horror of horrors, the ads that came up on my Daily Devotion on Mobile Phone page were about crystal gazing, new age and spirit guides. What I was expecting were Christianity related ads, instead what I got were ads that were totally against my beliefs.

(Momentary panic) – What should I do now? What can I do?

It’s a good thing that AdSense has a Competitive Ad Filter that allows for blocking of specific ads. There’s a very helpful how to tutorial on Competitive Ad Filter available in the AdSense Help Center. Following the steps from the AdSense Help Center, the “offensive” ads were blocked from appearing on my web site. Phew! If those ads couldn’t be removed, I would have to stop using Google AdSense. Now, please excuse me while I go and check the results of my ads.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2).

If the strongholds in your mind are the result of conditioning, then you can be reconditioned by the renewing of your mind. Anything that has been learned can be unlearned. Certainly this is the major path of renewal in the New Testament. 4000+ downloads in less than a month?

That’s the number of times http://www.getjar.com statistics shows for the “Who I Am In Christ” free java software that I posted there. The GetJar website is a great place for distributing java freeware for mobile phones. Without GetJar, I have absolutely no idea how long it would take to have reach 4000 downloads from fourteenfloor.com alone.

As of today, the total combined download of the all the J2ME jar files from fourteenfloor.com is around 300. My java software in GetJar – Who I Am In Christ, Twenty Cans of Success, Global Prayer Digests and Purpose Driven Life have a combined download of 13600. That’s 45 times more downloads compared to fourteenfloor.com.

Now, what do I need to do to make it easier for people to find Daily Devotions on Mobile Phone?

I’ve just created a mobile phone application for the memorizing the bible verses of the 5 purposes from the book Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. The memory verses are taken from the NIV, NASB, NKJV, ESV and NLT bible translations. You can get the software free from Daily Devotions for Mobile Phone.
